The government of Liberia information house, The Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism MICAT has presented a brand new TVS motorcycle to her Grand Cape Mount County correspondent as part of an effort to make the process of information gathering effective.

Presenting the keys to journalist Morris  Karneh Information Minister Honorable Jerolinmek Piah narrated that the presentation was necessary noting that it will help alleviate the struggles encounter by journalist Karneh in gathering information for the ministry.

Minister Piah acknowledged the fact that information gathering has over the years been difficult for the Ministry of Information counties correspondents due to the lack of logistical support something he said has prevented them from going to hard-to-reach zones in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities as professional media practitioners.

He encouraged Journalist Karneh to take ownership of the motorcycle and used it carefully as his personal property to prevent it from getting damage in an early day. He emphasized the need to prioritize care and maintenance as major tools that will determine the durability of the motorcycle.

For his part, journalist Morris Karneh who has been providing daily news reportage for the Liberia News Agency (LINA) at the Ministry of information in the presence of numerous of challenges appreciated his boss Honorable Piah and the Ministry of Information leadership for the presentation.

He said that the decision taken by minister Piah to make available a motorcycle to him is an empowerment that will take him a long way in his media journey.

Morris Karneh at the same time pledged his commitment to carefully handle the object and use it for its purpose intended for.

Liberia News Agency (LINA) is Liberia’s state-run news agency that operates under the Ministry of Information. It started operating in 1978. The agency’s building was destroyed during the Liberian civil conflict that began in 1989 but renewed its operations in 2012.
