Kakata, Margibi County –Honorable Ivar K. Jones, Chair of the Margibi Legislative Caucus, has urged Superintendent Victoria Worlohab Duncan to launch an investigation into the numerous unfinished projects within the county. His remarks came during the induction ceremony of local county officials held on August 16, 2024, at the Kakata City Hall.
During the ceremony, Hon. Jones emphasized the critical need for transparency and accessibility as essential components for the growth and development of Margibi County. He revealed that funds had been allocated for various development projects across the county, yet many remain incomplete. “There are too many unfinished projects in the county, and some of these projects were fully paid for but have yet to see completion,” he stated.
Reiterating President Boakai’s call for change, Hon. Jones declared, “No Business As Usual,” urging the newly inducted local officials to prioritize accountability and integrity in their governance. He expressed the Caucus’s commitment to working collaboratively with the County Administration to ensure smooth operations that benefit all Margibians and Liberians in general.
Hon. Jones also highlighted the importance of reconciliation among members of the Unity Party and urged citizens to support the newly appointed local officials rather than opposing them. He called for unity in identifying the needs of the community, encouraging the county council to collaborate with various political districts and senators’ offices to achieve meaningful development.
The induction ceremony was attended by lawmakers, government officials, community leaders, and citizens from across Margibi County, all coming together to set aside political differences in pursuit of a unified agenda for the county. The event fostered a sense of hope among attendees, who expressed their excitement for the future leadership of Margibi and their aspirations for transformative development.
As the county looks forward to addressing its challenges, the call for accountability and collaboration resonates strongly among its leaders and citizens alike.
