In Zorzor,Lofa -The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has unveiled a comprehensive tax awareness and engagement campaign in Zorzor, Lofa County, aimed at enhancing taxpayer knowledge and compliance.

The campaign, led by William Gegeh, Manager for Customs Modernization, seeks to educate taxpayers and business stakeholders about their tax obligations, including various types of taxes, due dates, payment processes, and compliance measures.

A key component of the initiative is the training provided to customs brokers and customs officers on the ASYCUDA World system, which is used to analyze customs declarations and payments.

Mr. Gegeh expressed his appreciation to the taxpayers for their ongoing support to the government’s national development programs through tax contributions. Zorzor District Commissioner Paul Kalama attended the LRA’s engagement and commended the Tax Authority for its outreach efforts.

He urged the LRA to quarterly organized the training across Liberia, thereby encouraging taxpayers to recognize the crucial role of tax payments in national development.

However,Local business stakeholders voiced their commitment to continuing tax payments and requested that the LRA increase the frequency of tax education sessions in the county to further improve compliance.
