Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced the immediate dismissal of Corporal Sabastine G. Weedee (LNP-2753) from the Police Support Unit (PSU) following a serious criminal misconduct incident.

The decision comes in response to a complaint lodged by Estella Metzger, an employee of the United Bank of Africa (UBA). Ms. Metzger alleged that Officer Weedee visited the UBA 5th Street branch in Sinkor under false pretenses, claiming to be conducting official business. During a brief absence from her desk, Weedee is accused of stealing $100 from a customer’s deposit left unattended.

During the preliminary investigation, Corporal Weedee confessed to the theft and has been formally charged with the crime. The LNP has deemed Weedee’s actions a severe breach of Section 8.1(a) of the Liberia National Police Disciplinary Regulations of 2016.

In addition to his dismissal, Corporal Weedee has been ordered to cease all affiliations with the LNP to prevent further embarrassment to the force. He has been instructed to return all government property, including badges, uniforms, ID cards, and other issued equipment, to the Human Resource Management Division.

The LNP continues to uphold strict standards of integrity and professionalism and has reiterated its commitment to addressing and rectifying any breaches of conduct within its ranks.
