Monrovia – LFA 1st Vice President Sekou Konneh (Prof) praised the recently concluded two-day Match Commissioner Refresher Training, calling it a rewarding and crucial part of the league’s preparations for the upcoming season. The training, which took place at the ATS, is among several educational initiatives the Liberia Football Association (LFA) undertakes annually to ensure that officials are well-prepared for the league’s demands.
Konneh (Prof), a FIFA and CAF-certified Match Commissioner, expressed his gratitude to the participants and emphasized the importance of continuous learning and feedback. He urged his colleagues to master their duties by embracing constructive criticism and sharing knowledge.
“I want to thank all of us [colleagues], and we should remember that learning is a process where taking feedback from our peers is essential. There’s nothing wrong with sharing ideas and learning from one another,” Konneh (Prof) said. He highlighted the value of experience, noting that younger commissioners could greatly benefit from the insights of seasoned officials like Yankoi Borsay and Idrissa Kaba.
In a separate statement, Match Commissioner Idrissa Kaba expressed his appreciation for the LFA’s commitment to training and requested that Vice President Konneh relay their gratitude to LFA President Raji and the entire association.
“You [Konneh (Prof)] should be a messenger for us to the president [Raji] and the whole of the LFA, acknowledging the collective effort, orientation, and achievements made through our togetherness,” Kaba remarked. He also commended Commissioner General Cllr. Wesley for her annual support in organizing the training.
Commissioner General Izetta Wesley extended her thanks to all participants and encouraged them to remain steadfast as they face the challenges of the new season.
