The Kakata Rural Teacher’s Training Institute (KRTTI) is the oldest government base institution among the three Rural Teachers Training Institute, which offers both C and B certificates in Teacher’s education in the country..
In an event held in Margibi, kakata Rural Teachers Training Institute celebrated the graduation of thirty Nine Students for the “C” certificate program.
The graduation ceremony was graced by government officials parents, stakeholders from the county, religious leaders, and other humanitarians.
As a long-standing institution, KRTTI is supported by the national government to promote dedication in providing quality education and providing relevant training for aspirant teachers in rural areas.
The Director George B. Kpanneh mentioned that the “B”certificate program lasted for two years and candidates are recruited from the fifteenth counties of Liberia while the “C”certificate program last for ten months and candidates are recruited from seven counties including Margibi, Grand Bassa, Montserrado, and River Cess counties among other.
Meanwhile, serving as keynote Spaker, Rev. Gbarngawoe E. Seyboe, kakata city mayor Spoke on the Theme: UPGRADE ,urging graduates to strive to improve themselves in their profession.
He at the same time, used the medium to call on the minister of education to upgrade the educational system.
Mr. Seyboe called on key actors in the educational system to terminate the teaching of popular Liberian literature “Murder in the Cassava Patch” in schools across the country.
He said, as per the title of the book, students will not just learn about murder in the Cassava Path but will practice it in their respective homes, Communities etc.
