Monrovia, Liberia – The Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA) has strongly denied allegations of corruption recently aired on the Voice of Liberia’s BITZ and PIECES afternoon show on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
In a statement, CNDRA dismissed the claims as “deceptive, malicious, and untrue,” describing them as a “malevolent plot of disinformation and misinformation” aimed at tarnishing the agency’s reputation.
The agency clarified that neither its Deputy Director General for Administration, Gabriel N. Domah, nor its Director General, D. Nelson Bearngar, has ever opened a private account for the agency at GT Bank Liberia. Instead, CNDRA operates a transitory account at the bank, established years ago under former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s administration. The account functions under a revenue-sharing agreement approved by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) to support the agency’s operations.
According to the agreement, 60% of the revenue collected goes to the LRA, while 40% is deposited into CNDRA’s consolidated account. The agency assured that all funds from this account are managed transparently and reported to the MFDP on a quarterly basis, following the guidelines of the Public Financial Management (PFM) and Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) laws.
In light of the allegations, CNDRA has urged the media to uphold professionalism and act as responsible watchdogs to prevent the spread of misinformation.
